Where to begin?

Congratulations! You've decided to take the plunge and invest in an audio system to enhance your listening experience.

Is it a worthwhile investment?
It certainly is, if you enjoy music of any sort then a high quality audio system will certainly enhance your listening pleasure. Think of it as you would the higher resolution televisions that are available today, could you go back from 4K to HD or even black and white?

Why choose used hifi equipment?
Good quality Hifi equipment are usually built to last, using high grade components. This generally means that used equipment can last decades if looked after. If you know where to look equipment that retailed for thousands can now be found for hundreds and can often hold their own compared to more recent iterations.

Aren't my old cd's and even records (Vinyl) audio formats now irrelevant  / lesser?
In short.. no.. I think we're all aware of the recent "Vinyl revival" which has seen those wondrous black disks work their way back into our hearts. You will be surprised the quality of music that can be brought out of them, but the cheap and cheerful players found on the high street simply don't do them justice. Quite often a good quality used player can be found for a similar cost, if not cheaper!

There's so many different types of hifi set ups, from one box solutions to massive separates and speakers.

We're here to help you on your way with honest information, on how to improve your music enjoyment.
